Lois Barr taught pre-kindergarten for twenty years; teaching children has been the passion of her life. In her first book, WHEN NUMBERS MET LETTERS, letter A meets number 1 and they argue over who is really first! As all the plastic numbers and letters in the classroom box get mixed up, they puzzle over their differences and similarities and make suggestions to one another for improvement, compete about who has more curves, and lots of other silly things. In the end, the letters have stories to tell, and the numbers really count.
