Shelia Burlock, M.Ed is a seasoned K12 educator. She is a recipient of the Excellence in Educational Leadership Award from the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc., Beta Lambda Chapter. She and her husband reside in Indianapolis. "Since I have been an adult there has been a resurgence of the Natural Hair Movement in online communities and social media ...There is still a lack of knowledge about Black hair, its care and history, not only by African Americans, but by other cultures as well. A way to build that knowledge is to change the narrative around natural hair."
